Digital scale not reading weight correctly, showing unstable readings, or giving inconsistent results are the most common faults reported by users. 1. Air flow and environmental vibration

This is the most common cause of unstable readings, especially for high-precision analytical balances. Air flow from air conditioners, open windows and passing personnel, as well as micro-vibration from centrifuges, pumps and other equipment, will cause the display to jump continuously and fail to stabilize.Solution:Place the balance on a stable anti-vibration workbench, away from air outlets and walkways. Close all windshield doors completely during weighing.

2. Static electricity interference

In dry environments, plastic containers and tweezers are easy to generate static electricity, which causes sample adsorption and weighing deviation. This problem is particularly prominent in winter and air-conditioned rooms, and is often mistaken for sensor failure.Solution:Use anti-static weighing containers and tools; appropriately increase environmental humidity; eliminate static electricity on the sample surface before weighing.

3. Zero point deviation and overdue calibration

Long-term operation, temperature changes and position movement will cause sensor drift. If calibration is not carried out in time, the overall weighing data will deviate, showing that the displayed weight does not match the actual weight.Solution:Reset to zero first, then perform a full calibration with standard weights. Calibrate regularly according to use frequency.

4. Sample temperature difference

Samples taken out of the refrigerator or drying oven have a temperature difference from the environment, which drives air convection and causes buoyancy change, resulting in continuous reading drift.Solution:Place the sample at room temperature for enough time before weighing. Avoid holding the weighing container directly by hand to prevent temperature conduction.

5. Weighing pan contamination and blockage

Spilled samples, dust and fiber residues will accumulate under the weighing pan, blocking the mechanical structure and causing inaccurate readings. Corrosive residues will also accelerate component aging.Solution:Clean the weighing pan, windshield and weighing chamber thoroughly. Remove spilled samples immediately after each test.

6. Unleveled placement

After moving or long-term use, the balance position is easy to shift. If it is not horizontal, the sensor force direction is wrong, resulting in systematic weighing error.Solution:Check the level bubble before use every day, and adjust the foot screws to keep the bubble in the center.

7. Overload and sensor damage

Frequent overload weighing and violent impact will cause irreversible damage to the weighing sensor, resulting in persistent large deviation or no reading at all.Solution:If all the above troubleshooting methods fail, and the error is still obvious after re-calibration, it may be sensor damage. Contact the manufacturer for professional maintenance and do not disassemble it privately.
