Tier 1: Zero cost basic check (solve 60% of faults)

Most "faults" are caused by simple environmental and operational factors, which can be solved in 5 minutes.

  1. Environmental interference checkAir flow from air conditioners and fume hoods, micro vibration of surrounding equipment and direct sunlight will cause unstable readings. Move the balance away from air outlets and vibration sources, close all windshield doors, and test again. This is the top cause of the symptom that digital scale not reading weight stably.

  2. Appearance and cleanliness checkSpilled samples, dust and fiber residues will jam the weighing pan structure, resulting in inaccurate readings. Clean the weighing pan, windshield and weighing chamber thoroughly, and check whether there is foreign matter stuck under the weighing pan.

  3. Level and placement checkUnlevel placement is a very easily overlooked cause of systematic deviation. Check the level bubble, adjust the foot screws to keep the bubble in the center, and ensure the workbench is stable without shaking.

Tier 2: Reset and zeroing operation (solve 20% of faults)

If there is no problem with the basic check, you can solve the fault through standard reset scale operation.

  1. How to reset digital scale to zero correctlyKeep the weighing pan clean and empty, close the windshield, wait for the instrument to stabilize, press the ZERO key to complete zero reset. If the zero point deviates seriously, you can repeat the operation once. Do not press the zero key frequently and continuously.

  2. Simple power-off resetIf the program is temporarily disordered due to power fluctuation, turn off the power supply, wait for 30 seconds, then power on again and preheat again. Most temporary program failures can be solved by power-off reset scale operation.

Tier 3: Calibration level repair (solve 15% of faults)

If the reset operation still cannot solve the problem, it is usually caused by sensor drift, which needs to be corrected by formal calibration.

  1. Perform full electronic balance calibration with traceable standard weights according to the standard calibration procedure

  2. After calibration, verify with weights of different specifications to confirm that the indication error is within the allowable range

  3. For digital balance calibration, pay attention to keeping the environment stable during the whole process to avoid calibration failure

Tier 4: Hardware fault judgment (5% probability)

If all the above operations are completed and the fault still exists, it may be hardware damage:

  • The display has no response for a long time after weighing

  • The data deviation is still very large after calibration of electronic weighing balance

  • Obvious abnormal noise or mechanical jamming inside the instrument
